Summer Reading
Parents and students please read this together!
Summer is nearly here and so is summer reading. Summer is a time for fun and recreation, but don’t forget to read! Not only is reading a great way to spend your extra time, it is an important tool in retaining what you have learned over the last year. It will also give you a head start on your upcoming school year. As an incentive for you to keep reading over the summer we have provided four options. If you return any of the following to Mrs. Dosier or Mrs. Briggs when school resumes you will receive a prize.
- Summer Reading Log (keep track of what you have read)
- Completed Weber County Library Summer Reading Packet Weber County Library Summer Reading Program
- Reading log from Read Today or signed parent statement that log was completed Read Today Summer Reading
- Review of free book received from Barnes and Noble after signing up for their summer program Barnes and Noble Summer Reading
Have a great summer!
Mrs. Dosier and Mrs. Briggs

5th and 6th Grade Book Club
In 5th and 6th grade book club we will be spending the next 3 months reading Echo by Pam Munoz Ryan. This book is great for a prolonged read because it is written in three sections. Please have your student read to page 190 for the meeting in February.
3rd and 4th Grade Book Club
In 3rd and 4th grade book club we introduced Poetry to the students. They can check out as many books as they want to as long as they return a book. There are so many forms of poetry; narrative, haiku, concrete, and limerick. Make sure they get to experience as many as they can.
1st and 2nd Grade Book Club
We are reading as many of the Easy Readers from Frog and Toad, Pinky and Rex, Cowgirl Kate, Biscuit, and Penny as the students can. Remember, students may check out a new book every time they return a book. Please have your student bring their favorite book to book club the first week of February.
